# Why does Research meets Revenue exist?

Great research becomes a company when the right researcher meets the right co-founder. Most deep tech never leaves the lab because scientists and company builders rarely end up in the same room. Research meets Revenue fixes that with one evening, around 30 hand-picked guests and structured 1:1 co-founder matching.

## What makes it different?

- **Built for deep tech.** Every researcher brings work that could carry a company: PhDs, postdocs and PIs.
- **Co-founder matching, not networking.** The core of the evening is 1:1 speed matching between researchers and company builders.
- **Small and curated on purpose.** 15 researchers and 15 company builders, so everyone actually meets everyone.
- **Founders who did it.** Each edition opens with founders who turned research into funded companies, such as Dr. Pasha Shabalin (Marvel Fusion, €400M raised) and Dr. Johannes Woehrstein (mbiomics, €30M raised).

## Who runs it?

Research meets Revenue was started by Julian Martin. The Stanford edition is hosted by Julian Martin (TUM, START Munich), Annemarie Schimkat (TUM, START Munich, CDTM) and Nils Bode (President, Stanford German Student Association), together with the Stanford German Student Association.
